TYPES.—Syntype, ANSP 328 (male II); others probably destroyed in the Chicago fire, 1871 (Faxon, 1914:423).
TYPE LOCALITY.—Humber River, near Toronto, Canada.
RANGE.—Ontario and New York, to Illinois, and southward to Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. Its presence in New England east of the Hudson River basin is believed to have resulted from introductions (Douglas G. Smith, in litt.).
HABITAT.—Streams.

Cambarus robustus eller «big water crayfish» er en art av ferskvannskreps eller «hulekreps» av slekten av ferskvannskreps (familie Cambaridae, orden Reptantia) som inngår i den store gruppen av såkalte tifotkreps. Dette er en av i alt om lag 100 arter i slekten med det som på engelsk kalles enten bare «crayfish», eller «cave crayfish».
Utbredelsen er begrenset med forekomster i elver og innsjøer i deler av Nord-Amerika.
