Hexaprotodon liberiensis (Pygmy Hippopotamus) is a species of mammals in the family hippos. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Ethiopia. They are solitary, nocturnal herbivores. Individuals are known to live for 525.6 months and can grow to 1600 mm. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming to move around.
