Hystrix africaeaustralis (African Porcupine) is a species of rodents in the family Old World porcupines. They are native to Ethiopia. They are solitary, nocturnal herbivores. Individuals are known to live for 240 months. Reproduction is viviparous. They have parental care (female provides care).
