Dasyprocta punctata (Central American Agouti) is a species of rodents in the family Dasyproctidae. They are listed in cites appendix iii. They are native to The Neotropics. They are diurnal herbivores. Individuals are known to live for 120 months. Reproduction is viviparous. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on running to move around.
