Cynictis penicillata (Yellow Mongoose) is a species of mammals in the family mongooses. They are native to Swaziland, Ethiopia, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe. They are diurnal carnivores. Individuals are known to live for 182.4 months and can grow to 291.87 mm. They have parental care (paternal care). They rely on running to move around.
