Sleepydaisy

Xanthisma, common name sleepy-daisy,^[3] is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae.^{[1][4][5][6][7][8][3]}

The generic name comes from the Greek "xanthos," "yellow", and "-ismos," "condition."^[3] It was first described in 1836 from material collected in "The Mexican Province of Texas."^[1]

Xanthisma es un género de plantas fanerógamas perteneciente a la familia de las asteráceas. Comprende 24 especies descritas y sólo 13 aceptadas.^[1]​^[2]​

Taxonomía

El género fue descrito por Augustin Pyrame de Candolle y publicado en Prodromus Systematis Naturalis Regni Vegetabilis 5: 94–95. 1836.^[3]​

Etimología

Xanthisma: nombre genérico que deriva del griego que significa "aquello que se tiñe de color amarillo", en referencia a las flores.^[4]​
