Cottioidei is a suborder of ray-finned fishes. There are 1267 species of Cottioidei, in 274 genera and 25 families. This suborder has been around since the lutetian age. It includes groups like Prowfishes, Quillfishes, and Pricklebacks. They are carnivores. They have sexual reproduction.
