Gyromantis kraussi or Spiney Bark Mantid. A young mantid hiding on the bark of a burnt tree. These mantids seem to be able to change their colour to match the background they are sitting on. On brown trees they are brown. " The G. kraussi is also popularly known as a "Bark Runner," in reference to its response when startled. Although many species of Mantis are kept as pets, G. kraussi is less common due to its natural food sources, such as stink bugs, being difficult to provide."
