2010.04.09 Austria, Lower Austria, district Neunkirchen (1250 m AMSL).Here, at this time of year and at this height, there was still plenty of snow to be found - patches beginning at approx. 1100 metres altitude, and a closed blanket of snow approx. at and above 1300 metres. While flowering season already was reaching its end down in the valley it only began up there - and some leaves of H. niger still were mostly (or completely) covered by snow and thus hadn't even begun flowering.German name: Schneerose
