Ficaria verna verna (Lesser Celandine) is a subspecies of perennial herb in the family Ranunculaceae. They are native to Cyprus, Estonia, Russia, Lebanon, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Bulgaria, Tunisia, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Latvia, France, Italy, Morocco, Belarus, Lithuania, Romania, Ireland, Poland, Turkey, Israel, Portugal, Greece, Denmark, Czech Republic, Georgia, Libya, Norway, Jordan, Albania, Spain, Finland, Ukraine, Sweden, Syria, United Kingdom, and Algeria. Flowers are visited by Tawny Mining Bee, Common Pollen Beetle, Aglais io, and Nomada marshamella. Individuals can grow to 0.15 m.
