Astrangia poculata (Northern Star Coral) is a species of cnidarians in the family Rhizangiidae. They are listed in cites appendix ii. Dead Northern Star Coral form shallow marine sediments. Northern Star Coral form marine reefs. They have asexual reproduction and sexual reproduction; they are broadcast spawners.

Definition: Appendix II lists species that are not necessarily now threatened with extinction but that may become so unless trade is closely controlled.
