Montipora dilatata (Purple Rice Coral) is a species of cnidarians in the family staghorn corals. They are listed as endangered by IUCN. Dead Purple Rice Coral form shallow marine sediments. Purple Rice Coral form marine reefs. They have asexual reproduction, alternation of generations, and sexual reproduction; they are broadcast spawners. They are sessile animals.
