Circumarctic; in the North Atlantic known from Newfoundland in the west along Greenland and Svalbard to Novaya Zemlya in the East, in the Polar Ocean from the Barentz Sea along the Kara, Laptev and East Siberian Seas to the Beaufort Sea, in the Pacific from the Gulf of Anadyr to the Aleutian Islands.
