"All that can be said of them is that they belong to that section of the genus which is characterized by having the rostrum obsolescent, the antennal flagellum very short, and the fingers of the chelipeds separated by a gap at base when closed, as in P. [Paguristes] hians [Pseudopaguristes hians], P. [Paguristes] incomitatus, and P. [Paguristes] jousseaumii [Paguristes jousseaumei]. From all these they are distinguished by their extremely pallid eyes."
