It is sluggish in its habits.
On an 1899-1990 expedition the specimens of this species were taken on the reef at Hulule, Male Atoll, and in Funadu Velu, Miladumandulu. (Borradaile, 245)
Known to be found around East Africa, Indo-Pacific, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Red Sea, and Somalia. (WoRMS)
Marine; lives under stones.
Golden-yellow colored fur (in Maldive specimens). A smooth patch can be found near the base of the finger of the large hand.
