An Amphipod Crustacean Species

Epimeria (Pseudepimeria) oxicarinata Coleman 1990

Epimeria oxicarinata

provided by EOL authors

Epimeria oxicarinata is a species of amphipod crustacean first described in 1990. The description (Coleman, 1990) is based on specimens trawled from Antarctic waters. These inch-long (2.54 cm) marine invertebrates belong to a huge order of mostly small crustaceans, the Amphipoda, which includes almost 10,000 marine, freshwater, and terrestrial species. More familiar amphipods include sand fleas, scuds, and lawn shrimp.
