Oceanic, meso- to bathypelagic species.
Female:
Body oval-shaped, abdomen 3 times shorter than the cephalothorax. The posterior side of the thorax is slightly asymmetrical – the left corner is elongated, the right is flat. The genital segment is somewhat longer than the combined length of the next 2 segments. Caudal rami carry 5 chaetae. A1 reach the anal segment of the abdomen. Exo- and endopodite of A2 equal in length. Rostrum has the form of a sinuate plate with no filaments. The endopodite of P1 two-segmented. P5 slightly asymmetrical. The longer of the 2 apical spines is half as long as the distal segment.
Male:
The posterior edge of the thorax with slightly angular corners. Right A1 strongly geniculate. The third segment of the right P5 carries a projection on the outer distal corner. The base of the distal segment is widened and has a separated lobe.
