Morphology

provided by iArczoo

Female:
Abdomen 1.5 times shorter than the cephalothorax. External genital apparatus midway on the anterior half of the dorsal surface, each area with a tiny setule. The 2 post-genital segments are short and often telescoped. Operculum margin of the anal segment is nearly straight. Caudal rami with an expansion on the dorsal surface.
Exosceleton thinly sclerotized, rostral area thickened.
A1 6-segmented.
A2 3-segmented.
Md with thickened triangular base, flattened terminally.
Mx1 flat, bilobed, with 2 setae and spine on inner lobe, 4 setae on outer lobe. Mx-2 segmented.
Mxp 4-segmented. Terminal segment consists of a long claw with a row of setules on the inner surface and a process near the base.
P1-P4 with trimerous rami, segmentation of endopodite often hard to distinguish. Serrate, hyaline edges are narrow on all leg spines.
P5 represented by 1 pedicellate seta on the posterolateral corner of the 2st abdominal segment. Lateral seta on the body.
P6 probably represented by small blunt setule which scarcely extends below the genital operculum.

Male:
Abdomen 1.6 times shorter than the cephalothorax. Anal segment, caudal rami, rostral area, mouthparts mostly as in female. A1 lacks a distal seta on the 2nd segment. 2nd segment of Mxp expanded with an inner longitudinal cleft, posterior expansion rimmed with several rows of setules. P1 endopodite terminal spine and distal seta modified. P6 probably represented by the rounded posterolateral flap with a hyaline corner on the ventral surface of the genital segment.
