Dugong dugon (Dugong) is a species of mammals in the family dugongs. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN and in cites appendix i. They are native to Asia, Ethiopia, Oceania continent (Australia, NZ and islands), and Indian Ocean. They are solitary, nocturnal herbivores. Individuals are known to live for 840 months and can grow to 3 m. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming and lift powered swimming to move around.
