It is known to dwell at a depth of 672 metres (2,205 ft). Males can reach a total length of 50 centimetres (20 in).[1]

Macrocephenchelys brachialis is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van zeepalingen (Congridae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1934 door Fowler.
