體延長而呈圓柱狀,尾部側扁。吻部稍長。後鼻孔不為長管狀。口裂大,上下頜呈勾狀向口內側彎曲,不能完全密合。上下頜齒二或三排;頜齒數量多且明顯外露。脊椎骨數148-153。體色為深褐色;體側有三排黃褐色苔狀斑點。
