描述

體延長而呈圓柱狀，尾部側扁。吻尖而長；上下頜等長，頜齒單列。脊椎骨數135-138。底色由赤褐到褐色，周身遍布模糊的大白斑塊，尾和腹部的斑塊較疏；嘴角黑色，鰓腔表皮有數條黑色的皺褶，眼虹彩淡黃色。以前所記載之白斑裸胸鯙(/Gymnothorax
leucostigma /)為本種之異名。
棲地

主要棲息於淺海珊瑚、岩礁的洞穴及隙縫中。以魚類為主食，偶食甲殼類。
