Rouleina watasei (Tanaka 1909)

Head and body compressed. Eye large, circular. Snout strongly curved, nearly vertical at the tip. Gill rakers well-developed. Scales absent from the body except fro modified ring-like lateral line scales.

主要分布西太平洋海域，日本駿河灣至菲律賓一帶海域，臺灣除西部沿岸較淺水域外皆有分布。

深海魚類，不具經濟價值。

體延長而側扁。頭大。眼大，吻端渾圓，吻部上方平滑，眼徑大於吻長；上頜較短，末端延伸至眼中線前方。上下頜骨均具1列齒列。鰓條骨6。體不被鱗片。側線非常明顯而發達，且具特化園鱗。背鰭和臀鰭位於身體的後端靠近尾柄的位置，臀鰭基底略短於背鰭基底，背鰭起點和臀鰭起點相同或略位於前方，各鰭均無硬棘，背鰭軟條18-21，臀鰭軟條17-19；腹鰭小，位於體中部；尾鰭深叉。體色為深褐色至黑色，頭部及鰓蓋部位略帶藍黑色。

為棲息於水深316-1300公尺深的深海魚類，生態習性所知甚少。
