Neosalanx anderssoni (Rendahl 1923)

Differs from all other Neosalanx by its relatively large size, to 10 cm (versus only to 6.4 cm) and more numerous total vertebrae, 63-65 (versus 59 or less), snout relatively elongate; males with 20-28 anal scales (Ref. 34809).

Anadromous. Fish that ascend rivers to spawn, as salmon and hilsa do. Sub-division of diadromous. Migrations should be cyclical and predictable and cover more than 100 km.
