Mesobius antipodum és una espècie de peix de la família dels macrúrids i de l'ordre dels gadiformes.

Morfologia

• Els mascles poden assolir 66 cm de llargària total.^[4][5]

Hàbitat

És un peix d'aigües profundes que viu entre 846-1300 m de fondària.^[4]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba a l'est de l'Índic, el sud d'Austràlia,^[6] Nova Zelanda^[7][8] i la costa sud de Sud-àfrica.^[9][4]

Mesobius antipodum is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van rattenstaarten (Macrouridae).^[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1977 door Hubbs & Iwamoto.

無足脊首長尾鱈，為輻鰭魚綱鱈形目鼠尾鱈科的其中一種，分布於印度西太平洋馬達加斯加、澳洲、紐西蘭及南非海域，屬深海底棲性魚類，深度846-1300公尺，體長可達66公分，棲息在底中層水域，生活習性不明。
