Alionematichthys minyomma (Sedor & Cohen 1987)

This species is distinguished by the following characters: ; D 71-79; A 55-61; small eyes (1.5-2.3%SL); rounded snout, no cirri; cheeks with scales; with upper preopercular pore; outer pseudoclasper broad-based, simple flap-shaped, about twice as large as the inner one which is very short and its margin almost straight from short anterior pointed lobe to posterior lobe; very wide isthmus between pseudoclaspers; otolith length to height 2.2-2.3, with regular dorsal rim; otolith length to sulcus length 1.6, ostium length to cauda length about 3.5-4.0; vertebrae 10-11 + 29-30 = 39-40 (Ref. 81230).

分布於西中大西洋及臺灣，地理分布仍需進一步研究。

罕見魚種，魚體小型，除了學術研究之外，食用的經濟價值並不大。

體稍細長，側扁。前端的鼻孔約位於眼睛和上吻的中間；吻及下頜有許多黑棕色的小乳突。無鬚。眼小，吻長大於眼徑。口大，上頜達眼後方；主上頜骨的末端膨大。鰓蓋骨的後方有一尖棘，有時會被皮膚覆蓋。體被圓鱗；頭部則只有頰部有鱗，無側線。背、臀鰭很長，但不與尾鰭相連。背鰭鰭條數 75-79；臀鰭鰭條數 63-64；尾鰭鰭條數 16；縱列鱗數80-90；發育完整之鰓耙數 0-3；脊椎骨數 12+31。本種目前僅發現於西中大西洋，是否為雙鬚鼬(/Dinematichthys iluocoeteoides/)之誤鑑仍需一步之研究。

胎生魚種，雄魚具外生殖器。主要於棲息在珊瑚礁區的淺水海域中，以礁區的小型浮游動物或是無脊椎動物為食。
