Lamprogrammus brunswigi (Brauer 1906)

Benthic (Ref. 58302) or benthopelagic at bathyal depth (Ref. 56809). Rare species (Ref. 34024). Reproductive strategy possibly similar to other members of this family featuring oviparity, with oval pelagic eggs floating in a gelatinous mass (Ref. 205).

廣泛分布於全球除東太平洋外的熱帶海域，臺灣則分布在南中國海海域。

深海魚類，不具經濟價值。

體圓而延長，近尾部處則是逐漸側扁。吻端圓鈍，頭大，口端位。鰓蓋骨後方有一枚強棘。眼小，眼徑小於吻長，頭部及眼部覆蓋的皮膚相當膨大。體被圓鱗，側線鱗特化，上方具紡錘狀的神經瘤構造。背鰭和臀鰭非常的長，後部軟條與尾鰭相連。背鰭鰭條數113，臀鰭鰭條數 91；成魚腹鰭退化消失；胸鰭鰭條數22。體色為深黑色。

為棲息於水深800-1600公尺深的深海魚類，生態習性所知甚少。
