Scorpaenoidei is a suborder of ray-finned fishes. There are 520 species of Scorpaenoidei, in 92 genera and 14 families. This suborder has been around since the cenozoic era. It includes groups like Deep Sea Bristly Scorpionfishes, Velvetfishes, and Wasp Scorpionfishes. They are carnivores. They have sexual reproduction.
