體亞圓筒形，稍側扁，體前部粗圓，向後漸細，尾柄長圓錐狀。眼眶間隔大於吻長。鼻孔小，每側2個，鼻瓣呈卵圓形突起。體腹側下緣有一縱行皮褶。體背自鼻瓣前緣上方至背鰭前方及腹面自鼻瓣前緣下方至肛門前方被小棘。鰓孔內側淡色。背鰭近似鐮刀形，位於體後部，具軟條13-14；臀鰭與其同形且相對，具軟條12-13；無腹鰭；胸鰭寬短，近方形；尾鰭寬大，截形或近圓形。體背部為淺褐色，腹面乳白色；體側頸部至尾柄上具多條藍黑色斜行圓孤形橫紋；具明顯三胸斑，胸鰭基底內外側各具藍黑色圓斑；背鰭基部另具藍黑斑塊，周圍另具同心圓形之條紋。各鰭橘黃色；胸鰭則為淺黃褐色。

Takifugu bimaculatus is a species of pufferfish in the family Tetraodontidae. It is a marine species native to the Northwest Pacific, where it is known from the South China Sea off Vietnam, the Yellow Sea, and the East China Sea. It is demersal and reaches 30 cm (11.8 inches) SL. It is known to be toxic, although pufferfish from the genus Takifugu are often prepared and consumed as fugu.

Morfología
Los machos pueden llegar alcanzar los 30 cm de longitud total.[1][2]
Hábitat
Es un pez de mar de clima subtropical.
Distribución geográfica
Se encuentran en Asia: el Mar Amarillo y el Mar de la China Oriental.
Observaciones
La sangre, la piel, la carne y el hígado son tóxico, por lo que no se puede comer ya que es venenoso para los humanos.
