Biology

Adults are found in seagrass beds or bottoms with heavy algal growth. Captured at the surface using a hand net (Ref. 26165). Oviparous. Eggs are demersal and adhesive (Ref. 205), and are attached to the substrate via a filamentous, adhesive pad or pedestal (Ref. 94114). Larvae are planktonic, often found in shallow, coastal waters (Ref. 94114).

Petroscirtes ancylodon

Petroscirtes ancylodon, the Arabian fangblenny, is a species of combtooth blenny found in the western Indian ocean, and since 1989 recorded on occasion in the Levantine waters of the Mediterranean Sea, a likely entry from the Suez Canal.[2][3] Males of this species reach a length of 11.5 cm TL while females reach a maximum length of 7.9 cm SL.[4]
