Greenish-yellow above becoming reddish yellow with numerous dark spots (Ref. 37816).

Inhabits seaward reefs (Ref. 37816). Also found on beach rock, brown algae and coralline algae in shallow water. Usually, it seems to be associated with a coralline rocky shore (Ref. 13227).

Adults occur in seaward reefs in areas of strong surge, usually associated with a coralline rocky shore. Also found on beach rock, brown algae and coralline algae in shallow water (Ref. 13227). Eggs are hemispherical and covered with numerous sticky threads that anchor them in the algae on the nesting sites (Ref. 240). Larvae are planktonic which occur primarily in shallow, nearshore waters (Ref. 94114).

小型魚類，僅具學術研究價值。

體形小，圓柱狀。吻尖，上頜向後延伸至眼前緣下方；上下頜齒小，外列齒較大；鋤骨齒排列呈倒 V形；腭骨無齒。眼眶上緣皮膜與鼻瓣膜均細長，無鋸齒緣。頤部感覺孔 3+1+3。頭、頸、腹部及胸鰭基無鱗，其餘被櫛鱗；第一與第二背鰭基無鱗；腹部後緣無圓鱗；側線不連續，分為前後二段，前段側線為孔鱗，孔鱗側線不陡降，末端位於第二背鰭第八至第九棘下方；後段側線為缺刻鱗，缺刻側線鱗從孔鱗側線末端起延伸至尾柄；最後孔鱗與缺刻側線鱗列之間具一鱗列；側線上鱗列 3。D. III+XI-XII+8-9；A.I +15-17；P. ii-iii+4-5+vi-vii； L.l. 13-14+19-20。背鰭分成三枚；胸鰭末端達最後一側線孔鱗，或稍後方，即在第二背鰭的第九至第十棘下方。體土黃色，腹部色較淡；體具許黑色素胞，多分布在各鱗緣；另具少許小白斑；頭部色較深，上頜至眼前緣具一白帶；從吻端至胸鰭基，黑色素胞較密集，形成一寬縱帶；胸鰭具密集的黑色素胞，但有二條白橫線。

主要棲息於具強湧浪的向海礁區，也可發現於海灘岩石附近，或褐藻等繁生的水域。以藻類為食。

Enneapterygius minutus, the minute triplefin, is a species of triplefin blenny in the genus Enneapterygius. It was described by Günther in 1877. It is found in the Indo-Pacific south to Australia, north to the Ryukyu Islands and east to American Samoa.
