Pale White Spotted Triplefin

Adults are found in shallow waters (Ref. 27223) and reefs in 0-8 m depth (Ref. 90102). Eggs are hemispherical and covered with numerous sticky threads that anchor them in the algae on the nesting sites (Ref. 240). Larvae are planktonic which occur primarily in shallow, nearshore waters (Ref. 94114).

分布於西太平洋區，北從日本及台灣，經菲律賓及馬來西亞，向東南至萬那杜及丘克群島(Chuuk Is.)。臺灣分布於南部海域。

小型魚類，僅具學術研究價值。

體形小，圓柱狀。上頜向後延伸至瞳孔前緣下方；雄魚吻部長於雌魚；齒小，上下頜具椎形齒；鋤骨及腭骨前端具齒群。眼眶上緣觸角相對較長，呈葉狀。鼻瓣膜為葉狀。後顳骨枝稍彎曲，呈”U”形。頤部感覺孔 3-4 +1 + 3-4。頭部、胸部及胸鰭基部無鱗。體櫛鱗，尾柄圓鱗。側線不連續，分為前後二段，前段側線為孔鱗14-20個，孔鱗側線從胸鰭基後方即稍下降，末端位於第二背鰭末端下方；後段側線具2列缺刻鱗14-21個，末端止於尾柄。側線上鱗列 4 + 2 + 4。D. III+XI-XIV+7-11； A. I+16-21； P. ii + 7-8 + vii (16-17)；L.l. 14-20 + 14-21。背鰭低矮，分成三枚，但長度不超過第二背鰭第一軟條；臀鰭起始於第十一至第十三側線孔鱗；胸鰭末端達第七至第八臀鰭軟條。本物種原本體色不明。酒精標本狀態，雄魚頭部黃色且佈滿黑色素斑，體側黑褐色具狹長白斑；雌魚黃色，體側前半部具兩褐色斑紋，後半部下側於臀鰭上方具6條紋。(李承運、林沛立2012/11編寫)

主要棲息於淺海礁岩區，水深不超過8m。以藻類為食。

Enneapterygius pallidoserialis, the pale white-spotted triplefin, is a species of triplefin blenny in the genus Enneapterygius. It was described by Ronald Fricke in 1997. This species occurs in the western Pacific Ocean where it has been recorded from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Federated States of Micronesia, Philippines, Solomon Islands; Taiwan, Vanuatu and Vietnam. It occurs along rocky shorelines to depths of 8 metres (26 ft).
