Kupang Cardinalfish

Description: Characterized by yellow orange body color; presence of six narrow silvery to pale grey stripes; gill rakers on first arch 3-4+13-15, total rakers including rudiments usually 21-23 (modally 22); greatest depth of body 2.7-3.1 in SL (Ref. 90102).

Mouthbrooders (Ref. 240). Distinct pairing during courtship and spawning (Ref. 205).

Inhabits coral reef (Ref. 75154). Solitary or in groups, adults in pairs. Also found in sheltered rocky reefs in 2-15 m, often in silty conditions (Ref 90102).
