One Stripe Anthias

Juveniles of this species lack the red lateral stripe (Ref. 37816).Description: Characterized by yellowish-orange color with lavender-edged yellow stripe from snout to lower operculum; prominent white-edged red stripe from rear margin of operculum to middle of caudal-fin base; fleshy protuberance at front of upper lip in male; usually fourth dorsal spine longest, not prolonged; lunate caudal fin with filamentous tips; pelvic fins with filamentous tips (Ref. 90102).

Found in or near caves and ledges of seaward reefs (Ref. 9710, 48635), and in rocky areas in over 30 m depth (Ref. 9137). Adults swim upside-down (Ref. 37816, 48635). Solitary or in small groups (Ref 90102).

分布於西太平洋區，由日本至澳洲。台灣南部、東部及北部海域有產。

小型花鱸，不具食用經濟性之魚種。

體延長而側扁。吻短。眼中大，眼眶後緣無乳突。口較大，稍傾斜。上下頜齒細小，前端具犬齒。下及間鰓蓋骨下緣具鋸齒。體被小櫛鱗；側線完全，側線鱗數41-45；上頜不具鱗；各鰭亦不具鱗。背鰭連續，具硬棘X，軟條16-17，第III背鰭棘最長；臀鰭硬棘III枚，軟條7；腹鰭腹位，延伸至臀鰭或不及；胸鰭軟條17-19；尾鰭深叉形，上下葉不特別延長，但尖突。體粉紅色，體側上半部鱗片中央具黃褐色點，體側下半部鱗片中央具黃色點，各形成點狀縱帶，中央由一條從鰓蓋後緣至尾鰭基部之橘紅色寬縱帶隔開；頭部由吻端至胸鰭基部具一條鑲淡藍紫色緣之黃色斜帶。尾鰭黃色，上下葉具淡藍紫色緣。

主要棲息於向海礁區的洞穴或暗礁附近，棲息深度可達68公尺。
