Monopterus albus (Asian Swamp Eel) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family swamp eels. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Malaysia, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Central America, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, Australia, Africa, Singapore, China, The Philippines, South America, Myanmar, Cambodia, Brunei, and Laos. Individuals can grow to 100 cm. They have sexual reproduction.
