Test rounded in outline, flattened, early stage with chambers a half coil in length in quinqueloculine arrangement, later with broad and strongly overlapping planispiral chambers that are narrower at the base and widen distally, final whorl may include two and a half chambers as last one is slightly shorter, sutures depressed, periphery rounded; wall calcareous, porcelaneous, thick, surface with longitudinal to oblique ribs; aperture a high arch at the end of the final chamber, with a narrow triangular tooth projecting from its base.
