Shell dorso-ventrally compressed, with one terminal and two forward curved, blunt, lateral spines. Pseudostome with funnel-shaped collar at about 60 degree angle to long axis of test. Shell composed of calcareous and siliceous mineral particles bound by a structured organic cement. Pseudopodia: unknown. Habitat: marine, sandy beaches. Type species: Alepiella tricornuta Golemansky, 1970.
