An amoebae with thin stiff pseudopodia, body form ranges from a medium sized discrete mass of cytoplasm to a large marine plasmodium forming a network of broad pseudopodia with filose extensions. Alternates between actively feeding motile stage and resting stage which may undergo multiple divisions to produce small distributive 'buds'. Several species. Superficially similar to several other genera of large plasmodial amoebae.
