Also distributed in Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995). General distribution: tropical, Indo-west Pacific Ocean, depth range 1-103 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995; littoral and down to 25 fathoms, in dark sand, black specks and rocks in Clark (1911). Ecology: benthic, inshore, continental shelf, suspension feeder (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
