They are native to RondôNia, Amazônia, Bahia, Maranhao, Rio De Janeiro, Roraima, Espirito Santo, Amapá, Pernambuco, SãO Paulo, Minas Gerais, ParaíBa, Mata Atlântica, Acre (Brazil), Pará, and Sergipe. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 20 m.
