They are native to RondôNia, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Piauí, Pará, Alagoas, GoiáS, SãO Paulo, Sergipe, Espirito Santo, Amazônia, Maranhao, Mata Atlântica, Mato Grosso, Puerto Rico, Paraná, Bahia, Caatinga, Ceará, Tocantins, Rio De Janeiro, Roraima, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Cerrado, Acre (Brazil), and Santa Catarina. They have achenes.
