Floerkea versicolor Greene, Erytbea 3 : 62. 1895.
Annual ; glabrous except the flowers ; stems erect, 1-3 dm. high ; lower leaves pinnate, about 5 cm. long ; divisions about 7, entire, narrowly oblong or linear, or 3-parted with similar segments ; peduncles 5-12 cm. long, the lower longer, making the inflorescence almost corymbiform ; sepals broadly lanceolate, slightly acuminate, about 7 mm. long, usually with a few long hairs; petals 12-15 mm. long, obcordate, cream-colored, the tips light turning lilac in drying, often sparingly long-hairy ; carpels obovate, with irregular, rather low tubercles or ridges.
Type locality: Cedar Run, Shasta County, California.
Distribution : Northern and central California.
