Epimedium pinnatum subsp. colchicum (Boiss.) N. Busch

Evergreen plant, of 50 cm. Rhizome thin, creeping. Basal leaves biternate, leathery, dark green. Flowers numerous in a loose panicle, bright yellow. Fl - April-May for 2-3 weeks. Fr - June (if any). P - by division. Effective during the entire growing season, due to ornamental leaves. Does well even in regions with a cold climate, for example in St. Petersburg. Prefers shady places. Well suited for the rock garden and for group planting. Z 5 (4).
