Southern Giant Horsetail

Equisetum giganteum (Southern Giant Horsetail) is a species of perennial herb in the family horsetails. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to SãO Paulo, Mata Atlântica, Bahia, RondôNia, ParaíBa, Mato Grosso, Piauí, Rio Grande Do Sul, Distrito Federal, Rio De Janeiro, Espirito Santo, Santa Catarina, Pernambuco, GoiáS, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Cerrado, Minas Gerais, and Paraná. They have simple, photosynthetic stem leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.59 m. They have alternation of generations.
