Marshall is not the author of this species! The species was originally described as Dacnirotatus platensis Marelli, 1926. There is already an EoL page for it under this name. Marshall (1927) synonymised Dacnirotatus under Gonipterus, and D. platensis under G. gibberus. The species has recently been revalidated.
