Acaulescent and cespitose, closely allied to the preceding ; flowering branches 3-5 dm. high, scapiform, naked, glabrous or sparingly glandular-puberulent, as are the petioles; leaf-blades rounded-cordate or reniform, with a deep sinus at the base, thin, glabrous or minutely glandular-puberulent, 5-7-lobed, with rounded lobes and round-ovate bristle-tipped teeth; inflorescence very short and narrow, 2- cm. long; hypanthium yellow, glandularpuberulent, campanulate, together with the ovate sepals 4 mm. long ; petals spatulate, scarcely exceeding the sepals.
Type locality : Pony, Montana.
Distribution; Rocky hillsides, Montana, Idaho and Oregon.
