Stalked peritrich ciliate, cell 50-90 micrometres long. Funnel-shaped; peristome slightly wider than the length of the body. Pear-shaped when contracted. Colorless, transparent. Pellicle smooth, without transverse striations. Peristomial disk not much elevated. Stalk 3-4 times as long as the body. Salt water.
