Description

Soft-wooded shrub, 1-4 m. tall. Bark with distinct longitudinal ridges. Leaves 3-5 veined from the base, elliptic-obovate or oblong-lanceolate, more or less covered with rough stellate-hairs, particularly on the midrib and veins; margin irregularly toothed; petiole up to 6.5 cm long. Flowers unisexual in axillary heads on long peduncles, pale greenish-white. Fruit c. 7 × 10 mm, 3-lobed, covered in rough stellate hairs.
