Stigmaphyllon cordatum Rose ; Donn. Smith, Bot Gaz. 18: 198. 1893. Leaf-blades ovate to oval or ovate-reniform, 3-11 cm. long, acute or short-acuminate, deep-green and more or less pubescent above, paler and finely reticulate beneath, broadly cordate at the base, long-petioled ; pedunclesand pedicels pubescent ; sepals broadly ovate, 3.5-4 mm. long, the glands about one half the length of the sepal-body ; larger petals 1315 mm. long ; samaras 3-3.5 cm. long, the ventral edge of the wing with an ovate ascending auricle at the base.
