Leaf-blades oblong or lanceolate, 3-6 cm. long, acute or acuminate at the apex, canescent on both sides, permanently so beneath, veiny above, acute at the base, short-petioled ; cymes short-peduncled ; sepals ovate, 2-2.5 mm. long, the glands over one half the length of the sepal-body ; corolla purple, 14-15 mm. wide, the larger petals 6-7 mm. long; drupes subglobose, about S mm. in diameter.
Type locality : Campeachy. Distribution: Mexico; Cuba; Jamaica (?).
